Meet Our Program Director
Fledgling continues to use Montessori practices because Megan has seen first hand how beautiful the process of discovery is, and feels confident that the Montessori philosophy is the best way to offer that discovery to children.
Megan is committed to making Montessori accessible to everyone, so Fledgling keeps our tuition cost accessible and has minimal closures in order to support working families.
Megan was first drawn to Montessori after nannying for a Montessori family. She had always loved working with children and was intrigued by both the materials and the way the children engaged with the world around them.
The term Montessori has become a bit of a buzzword in the world of childcare, so we want to clarify what we mean by Montessori.
Montessori education was founded by Maria Montessori, an Italian physician from the early 1900s. Her groundbreaking research emphasized children developing real-world skills to foster independence and adults seeing young children as intelligent, capable, and helpful. Montessori’s work has inspired many, which is why her name is used to describe many child care practices.
Our program is educated from AMI (Association Montessori Internationale). A global training program that educates teachers using Maria Montessori’s theories. The toys, books, and activities of the program come from the official practices of the organization.

"The child who has felt a strong love for his surroundings and for all living creatures, who has discovered joy and enthusiasm in work, gives us reason to hope that humanity can develop in a new direction." ~ Maria Montessori
